Why do newbies to IM get frustrated and give up? Misinformation. Steep technology learning curve. Bankruptcy.
Ok, the last I’m kidding about, but not by much.
When you are starting out in affiliate marketing, it is very difficult to find the answers to your questions, or even worse, find so many answers to your questions that it is nearly impossible to decipher it all. The fact is, the cult of misinformation
BRINGS PROFITS to unscrupulous, unethical marketers who really do not have a career in affiliate marketing themselves. Their careers are based in marketing to other marketers. And keeping you dangling, giving you hope then snatching it away is how they profit. This is how they get repeat sales.
Do you know what spinning is? Spinning is changing up articles, reports, e-books, etc in order for them to appear to be unique. This is the foundation of what is happening. Newbies are promised the most helpful, the latest and the greatest information products that will finally tell them what they need to know. Only these “new” reports are nothing but reworded trash about techniques and methods that might have once made money online, but sure don’t anymore. But the truth of the matter is that you can’t spin manure into gold.
This practice is bad enough. But one that I consider even worse is the up-sell. You will buy an information product to find out a missing piece of the puzzle and be teased with hints of what you need to know. You’ll read through it, only to find that if you want that vital piece of information, you had better be prepared to take your credit card out once more. I have heard of new marketers getting seriously into debt just trying to find out what they need to know. And the cycle is endless until the victim suddenly realizes they’ve been duped.
It doesn’t have to be this way. It should never be this way.
What if you could bypass these scammers, and get a leg up on learning the technology that you need for a profitable online business? Make no mistake; if you want to make your online business into something more than just a hobby, you need some powerful software tools to help you get there. If someone tells you that you can make a living solely by bum marketing, writing article-after-article without your own website, or without some serious back linking tools and strategies, well I’ll call them a liar. But using these tools is not simple, and not for the faint of heart. It’s very difficult to learn how to use them effectively without help.
What makes it easier for newbies to learn new technology skills? Tutorials. Especially video tutorials. It is so much easier to emulate someone who is performing the tasks you need right in front of your eyes. You can pause the video; watch; and perform the steps in sequence, perfectly, the very first time. What if you are really stuck? Can you get someone who will share a screen on Skype with you to help in YOUR internet marketing forum? I know I can any time I need to.
Can you really trust the forum owner not to take advantage of your naivete and recommend tools that you don’t really need, and they don’t really know how to work themselves? Do you have moderators pm’ing you to buy tools and services from them? I never have these problems in the forum I’m a member of.
I don’t worry about any of these things anymore. I am a member of one of the finest online marketing communities where I can learn what I need to know without having my bank account raped. Video tutorials in this community have honed my technological skills to a degree I never thought possible. Believe me, I never would have thought when I began this journey last fall that I could do things like set up WordPress 3.0 multi-user blogs. Or how to set up a back linking network so intricate that it leaves nary a footprint for Google to find. Or how to capitalize on the traffic you’ve already built.
I’ll bet the run-0f -the-mill IM gurus aren’t teaching this. I’ll be that they aren’t teaching it over at Wealthy Affiliate either, or any of the other big IM forums.
